About Me

In May of 2019, I earned a B.A. in Music in Violin Performance from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, where I studied under the wonderful Dr. Elisabeth Adkins.I began formal violin study at age five with Dr. Kexi Liu and later studied with Mrs. Rebecca Cutler-Metzger at the former Suzuki String Academy at Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Missouri. In my early Suzuki studies, I attended the Absolutely Ottawa! Strings Summer Program in Ottawa, Kansas for approximately 10 years. After moving beyond the first 10 books of Suzuki study, I also completed Suzuki teacher training in Early Childhood Education and Violin Books 1–3. My own Suzuki experience and teacher training continue to shape my approach to listening, imitation, repetition, parent partnership, and joyful musical learning.I have orchestra experience with the Missouri Southern Symphony Orchestra (2008–2015), Missouri All-State Orchestra (2012, 2014, and 2015), Denton Bible Church Orhcestra (2020–2024), and Denton Philharmonic Orchestra (2023–Present).When I am not working on my Ph.D. in Higher Education from the University of North Texas, I enjoy continued involvement with the Denton Philharmonic Orchestra and performing for weddings and other special events.
